Cluster Ambassador Team leaves patients’ worries behind

A surge in enquiries is anticipated at the initial stage of implementation of the reform. The hospital clusters therefore are recruiting Cluster Ambassador Team to address patients' concerns. Dr Cheung Hon-ming, Deputy Service Director (Quality & Safety) of the New Territories East Cluster (NTEC), says NTEC is recruiting both full-time and part-time ambassadors to allow greater flexibility for manpower deployment. "For convenience of patients, we plan to set up booths in high-traffic areas, such as near the cancer centre, blood taking centre, and specialist out-patient clinic, where cluster ambassadors and volunteers will assist patients," Dr Cheung explains. To further support patients in family medicine clinic, NTEC also plans to set up a hotline, through which ambassadors will handle patient enquiries.
