Upgrade of CMS: Thorough testing to ensure absolute reliability
To accommodate changes in patient flows, HA's Information Technology and Health Informatics Division has prepared a comprehensive upgrade of the Clinical Management System (CMS). Multiple rounds of testing have been conducted by seven Hospital Chief Executives or their representatives to ensure smooth system processes and a clear, simple patient consultation experience. Chief Manager (Health Informatics) Dr Joyce Chan Ka-yin says: "Our team has worked tirelessly over the past months to update the system, paying meticulous attention to every detail. We collaborated closely with colleagues from different departments, conducting repeated drills based on the needs of various specialties to ensure frontline medical staff can use the system with ease." Frontline medical staff can check the new charges via CMS, facilitating communication with patients. The system also introduces a refund mechanism: In the event that a blood test cannot be performed due to haemolysis or clotting, the system will automatically process a refund once confirmed by the clinical team that no retest is needed.
