Leading the team in challenging times

The most profound experience of my career was during the peak of the COVID-19, witnessing the unwavering camaraderie among colleagues in the isolation wards despite the immense pressure. I have advocated for a Buddy Culture, and it is deeply rewarding to hear staff members proactively supporting one another. This steadfast spirit of standing together defines the most remarkable and inspiring moments of my nursing career, demonstrating the true power of a united team.

Helping breast cancer warriors to rebuild their lives

The most meaningful moments come from seeing patients regain their courage and joy. One patient, initially devastated by a breast cancer diagnosis, felt reassured by our prompt, high-quality care. She returned to normal life sooner than expected with minimal impact on her appearance. Another patient who underwent bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction was grateful to attend her daughter's wedding just four months later. Each Christmas, I receive thank you cards from patients, reminding me of the true purpose and fulfillment of my work.

Breaking traditions to enhance medication safety

One of the most extraordinary moments at work was witnessing an original concept evolve into a cluster-validated standard. Developing the Drug Return System required challenging long-standing manual traditions. Seeing this workflow transition from a pilot to a validated success across multiple hospitals reaffirmed my belief in the power of frontline innovation. This experience proves that by reimagining our daily operations, we can create a safer and more efficient healthcare environment, enabling us to provide better, more dedicated care to our patients.
