Nourishing lives gently and softly

Since taking over all 38 government and subvented hospitals and institutions in 1991, the Hospital Authority (HA) now manages 44 hospitals and institutions, 49 specialist outpatient clinics and 76 family medicine clinics. Through the years, our dedicated colleagues have worked tirelessly to build a medical safety net for the people of Hong Kong. Whether facing major public health crisis, or providing round-the-clock patient care, they have remained steadfast in their mission and together forged a strong yet gentle force.

Themed 'Helping People Stay Healthy for 35 Years', this edition of HASLink brings you several lesser-known stories behind those decades of achievement, along with an interview with HA Chairman Henry Fan and a comic strip. The comic strip is adapted from a submission by a colleague on the article sharing webpage called 'HA People, Memories and Stories', illustrating the profound inspirations drawn from daily work. The HA's 35-year journey is one we have travelled hand in hand with patients, their families, and people from all walks of life. As we celebrate this landmark anniversary, we take great pride in our progress so far and continue to move forward with optimism, professionalism, and enthusiasm into a new era of healthcare advancement.
